I have Indy, a 3-year-old Cockapoo who I have bred twice and as a result, have gained valuable experience with puppies and pregnant mamas! I’m hoping to have one more litter with her later this year. I was mentored by a very experienced home breeder and follow the ethical code of bringing the pups up within my busy household and exposing them to as many sights and sounds as possible. They have an excellent socialisation programme which I follow and when the pups leave mum, they are (mostly) toilet trained, can sit and come on command and will have been on chipped and have had their first vaccinations. I have a FB page, please feel free to follow. Its called ‘Indys puppies’ there you can see the previous puppy’s development over the first 8 weeks of their life.
I would be happy to answer any questions from new breeders and pass on the knowledge that I have gained.
I am currently studying level four in Canine Behaviour, with the British College of canine studies and hope to have it completed within the next year. I have also just enrolled on The Pro Dog Training course, a fun and exciting way, using concept games and positive reinforcement to train and help address the needs of many dogs, including Naughty but nice (NBN) dogs. Their motto, is ‘there’s a game for that’ and no matter what issue you have with your dog, it can achieve real-life transformations through dog training games!
I have attended canine workshops, including, First Aid, Understanding Canine body language and a two-day training in Tellington TTouch which also incorporates concept training. “Tellington TTouch Training is a gentle, respectful method of training, that honours the body, mind and spirit of animals and their people and develops trust between humans and animal, it deepens the relationship with your animals, improves behaviour, enhances performance, supports health and well-being and fosters learning”. I will be assisting and shadowing Natalie with her consults and her training sessions and also hoping to volunteer at a local dog charity all in order to gain hands-on experience
If anyone has any questions or would be open to me using their dogs as cases studies later on in the year, please get in touch and we can talk further. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and all the Pawsitive Training has to offer!

Pawsitive Impact Scent Work for Dogs With Behaviour Issues
(or for puppies as a preventive action)
Suitable for those dogs that would not normally be able to attend group classes
This course is ideal for dogs that have behaviour issues e.g. reactivity that can not usually attend group classes. A jam-packed six hours split over a three-week period with a maximum of two dogs per class with an Accredited Dog Behaviour Consultant and Scent Work Instructor.
Where you and your dog will learn to work as a team and we will show you how to teach your dog to:
- Identify a target scent
- Develop search skills, with a variety of equipment
- Shape a passive or active indication to show you they have found the hide
- How to work in a search area
- By the end, you and your dog will be able to perform an area search
The course will be held in Cotgrave on the edge of the village at my home address, where I have a superior set-up to any dog training venue I have seen in the last 10 years.
The main part of the course will be held outside, overlooking idyllic views of crop fields. It's secured with a 6ft barrier all the way around making it completely private from the immediate neighbours, who do not own dogs or have dogs visiting.
Your dog will be aware of the other dog's presence but protected with a 1.2-metre high privacy screen, so you are still able to see the other client working their dog in the search area if you want to.
There is a spacious conservatory with a separate seating area to get warm, make notes and have a quick break while being able to see the dog work outside, there is also a smaller area to prepare scent articles to teach your dog how to identify the scent and perform small indoor searches without the distraction of the outdoors.
The course costs £150 which includes a travel scent work kit (worth £30), for you to take away with you at the end of the course, you will get familiar with all of its contents during each lesson.
