Veterinary Referrals
Direct Referral Process
This page is for veterinary professionals and allied professionals wishing to refer dogs presenting with reactivity, aggression, or handling intolerance for behavioural assessment and support.
We work collaboratively with veterinary and multidisciplinary teams to support safe case management, improve access to care, and reduce risk in complex behavioural presentations. Natalie leads all behavioural assessments and case oversight, supported by Kym, our Behaviour Assistant, who liaises with clients and veterinary teams where appropriate.
Natalie holds Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications in canine behaviour and related disciplines, is an IAABC-accredited behaviourist and a member of the IAABC Vet Relations Committee representing Behaviourists in the UK and Ireland. Natalie’s work focuses on complex reactivity and aggression cases, particularly where behaviour intersects with health, pain, or reduced tolerance to handling and examination.
Referrals are appropriate where dogs present with:
- Reactivity or aggression towards people or dogs
- Escalating defensive behaviour with suspected pain or medical overlay
- Handling intolerance or fear-aggression that limits examination or treatment
- Post-adoption behavioural deterioration in rescue dogs identified as reactive
- Risk concerns within the home or during veterinary contact
Following referral, we will:
- Complete a structured behavioural assessment
- Provide written feedback to the referring professional and practice, where applicable
- Liaise with the veterinary and allied professional team where clinically relevant
- Work within a welfare-led, force-free framework, with veterinary diagnosis and medication decisions remaining under veterinary care
To refer a case, please complete the referral form below.
The form is designed to be brief and can be completed in under two minutes. Once received, we will confirm receipt and outline the next steps.
